I have to say that JLT is one of the most principled and committed leaders that I have ever met. I also think that his term as Chief Minister was something of a watershed for the progression of our little island. I can’t wait to see what he gets up to in the next term!

Jonathan has built bridges like a true leader, especially when it comes to ensuring every citizen enjoys the same fundamental rights and freedoms, dignity and respect as others. He is a strong advocate of equality and social justice. He is not afraid to challenge prejudice in all its forms and like all of us he makes mistakes but he uses them with humility as opportunities for personal learning and growth

We may not always see eye to eye on every subject, but I have always found Jonathan, very approachable, down to earth, a good listener, humble and not afraid to change his mind, where the arguments are rational and supported. These personal attributes make him a valuable member of the States and someone that gets my vote

— Aindre Reece-Sheerin [Musician & Disability lobbyist]
The key to Jonathan’s successful leadership to date and what will be absolutely key following the next election is in his common sense approach, being able to impact and influence upon the new States members, selecting the right leaders in order to get the job done properly, and the self-restraint not to meddle whilst they try and do it

— Phil Eyre [Managing Director - The Learning Company]
Jon is strong, forward-thinking leader who has a genuine concern for the local community. As a Guernseyman, I firmly believe that he has the best interests of islanders at heart
— Wayne Mahy [Director - Thirst Music School]
During his time as Chief minister Jonathan Le Tocq showed unquestionable leadership, he has also repeatably shown that he truly holds the island’s best interests at heart & is truly representing our island at all levels.

Several times I have interacted with Jonathan in his capacity as an elected official and even at a senior level I have always been amazed at his accessibility and willingness to help in anyway that he can. When we elect a representative, we expect a certain level of accessibility and I can say, without a shadow of a doubt that Jonathan goes above and beyond of what is required by him and this is even more impressive given that he is also the Minister for External Affairs.

Some of our elected officials sometimes put their own interests before that of their constituents when voting in the states. Jonathan has the interest of his island at heart & truly does what is best for the island. This is also reflected in his capacity as a leader, what Jonathan has achieved for our Island in his tenure shows how important it is that he remains as a member of our Assembly.
— Mat Keeling [Proud Guernseyman & social media commentator]
Jon is unique in that he appreciates that Guernsey’s biggest asset is its people, hence the reason why he has worked tirelessly to understand and further their interests both in and off island
— André Wilsenach [Former Executive Director - Alderney Gambling Control Commission]
Jonathan has the qualities to serve in a leadership role in the new States of Deliberation – intelligence, experience, sensitivity and judgement: the new Assembly will need all of these attributes as it faces formidable and complex challenges that include: delivering policies in a newly reformed government, completing the unfinished business of its predecessor, matching income and expenditure in the context of high public expectation, dealing with the fall out of the U.K. E.U. membership referendum and steering the Island through a through a period of international financial, political and security instability that will impact on all of our futures
— R S (Dick) Taylor [Former Deputy Director of Education & Training & Education Consultant - GFSC]
What I like about Deputy Le Tocq is that he is a man of his word. When he tells you he’ll investigate for you he delivers on his promise. He won’t fob you off with an excuse, he has the courage to tell it like it is even when it’s not a popular matter. For this he gets my vote.
— Gordon Young [retired soldier & carer]
I have come to know Jonathan well in recent years and like and respect him. He is a committed individual, thoughtful, pragmatic, articulate and principled. We are fortunate to have individuals like Jonathan who are prepared to enter politics and work hard to help ensure Guernsey continues to thrive as a community. I am hopeful that Jonathan will be re-elected a deputy so that he can continue to represent our Island with integrity and help address the many challenges, both internal and external, which we currently face as a community.
— David Warr [Non-Executive Director, Chartered Accountant & Vice-Chair of the Guernsey Community Foundation]
Jon is an excellent politician and leader. He is a pragmatist who puts time and energy into understanding the Island’s big issues and the nuances of them, but also demonstrates empathy for the individuals who reside here and their needs. This is a difficult balance to achieve or maintain and something that doesn’t come without criticism, however Jon conducts himself with sincerity and humility and maintains an appropriate dignity at all times for the role he performs.
— Rhona Humphreys [Director, Imperium Trust]
I feel confident with Jonathan in the States that we have our interests being considered by someone who has personal integrity and the best interests of the people of Guernsey at heart.

Jonathan is a person who uses evidence and facts to inform his decision making with a positive vision for the future of Guernsey at the forefront of this.
— Emma Worthington [High School Teacher & Professional Mum]
